The Boom timeline

Boom! Has been helping companies tell their stories for more than 30 years. We’ve worked for legendary brands and incredible people.

The early days

Very few people can match the pedigree of Boom’s founder Drew Dallet. Drew graduated from the Kent State University School of Visual Communication Design over 30 years ago working under renowned teachers such as Charles Walker, John Brett Buchanan and Paul Sayer.

He began his career working in Aspen Colorado for Burrows Bonds Communications and Aspen Magazine before moving on to Structure, a $1 billion division of The Limited in Columbus, Ohio and then on to Becker Design in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before settling back in Northeast, Ohio.

There he spent several years at a start-up design and internet marketing agency working on campaigns for brands like Toyo Tires, Smithers Oasis and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also was one of the first designers to work on the Web in the mid 1990s creating nearly 100 conference and convention web sites for national and international organizations.

Drew then joined the team at Karen Skunta & Company where he worked with clients such as Benjamin Rose, the Cleveland Clinic and The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

The launch of Boom

In 2002 Boom’s founder, Drew Dallet, recognized the need for a small, agile, independent graphic design and marketing agency with a full spectrum of capabilities including web design.

His principles were simple:

Provide world-class design and marketing services for clients across the Midwest at prices that allowed clients’ businesses to thrive.

Serve as a direct conduit between client needs and design services. No extra levels of account service people and middlemen – just responsive service.

Offer versatility. Drew realized that client needs were varied, and in order to be a long-term resource, Boom would offer everything from award winning logo design to in-demand web solutions.

Today

Boom has served hundreds of clients in three sectors:

Industrial/Technical: Manufacturing firms, component suppliers, industrial distributors, software development firms, high-tech instrumentation developers, and more.
